WHAT DOES THE EDGEWOOD ELEMENTARY PTO DO?

We use our time, talents, and resources to make Edgewood Elementary the best it can be for our teachers and students. Funds raised throughout the year—including from our biggest fundraiser, the Spring Festival—go directly toward projects and purchases that enhance both the academic and physical environment of our school. None of this would be possible without your support. Because of you, the PTO can continue to host events, fund initiatives, and provide meaningful contributions that benefit every student and teacher.

Here's just a few of the ways PTO has given back over the past few years:

  • Classroom assistance donations for teachers and staff at the start of the school year
  • Luncheons and treats throughout the year to show appreciation
  • Daily celebrations during Teacher Appreciation Week
  • Fall teacher grants for professional development
  • Spring teacher grants to meet classroom and student needs
  • Yearbooks for every 5th grader to commemorate their time at Edgewood
  • Centennial celebration for Edgewood’s 100th birthday
  • Support for beloved student events like House Day, Pals Day, Papapalooza, Talent Show, 5th Grade Graduation, Kindergarten Preview, and Meet the Teacher
  • Annual donation to the Homewood City Schools Foundation
  • PTO’s contribution to the staff holiday Jingle Fund
  • Organizing the annual Turkey Trot

Why join?

Joining the PTO is one of the easiest ways to support our school. It helps you connect with other parents, support our teachers, and ensure Edgewood continues to thrive. If I join, do I have to:

  • Go to meetings? Nope! You’re always welcome, but you can also share feedback anytime at ptoedgewood@gmail.com.
  • Volunteer or spend a lot of time at school? Not at all. We love volunteers, but your membership alone makes a big difference!
