Welcome to News from the Nest! This email is a way for us to share a little news to keep you informed on events and happenings of the Edgewood PTO. We know life is busy, and with so much to share, we wanted this email to serve as a simple and easy way to find the who, what, where, when, why's of the next month. Happy April! Edgewood PTO hopes everyone had a fantastic spring break! We are less than two weeks away from Spring Festival, and we hope everyone is as excited about it as we are!! There will be a lot of information being pushed out over the next two weeks regarding this event so please make sure you are checking email and following along on social media. Please make note of the information below for the month ahead, and reach out via email if you have any questions!

• Edgewood Night Out is this coming Monday, April 8th. Participating restaurants and businesses for this month are Big Spoon Creamery, Edgewood Creamery, Meals by Misty, Taco Mama, Otey's, Sam's Deli & Grill, Saw's BBQ and Bandwagon. This is an easy and fun way to give back to the PTO and support our local community.

• Our next PTO Meeting is next Thursday, April 11th, at noon in the library. You will be able to zoom if you can't make it in person. The zoom link will be emailed Thursday morning before the meeting.

• Each month, the PTO provides a treat for all teachers, faculty and staff to show how much they are appreciated. April is a combined month with both 1st grade and Kindergarten contributing to help provide this treat. If you would like to contribute and haven't already arranged to do so through your room parent, please Venmo @EdgewoodPTO and indicate 1st grade/K treat or send your donation to the office with your child labeled "1st grade/K PTO hospitality treat." The recommended donation is $5, but no amount is too small or too big. All donations are voluntary. We appreciate your support!

• School supply orders for the 2024-2025 school year will launch towards the end of this month. Please be on the lookout for more information via an email and an announcement on social media.

• Spring Festival is next Saturday, April 13th, from 3:00-7:00pm at Edgewood Elementary! Please see below for important information on this beloved event!

• Kindergarten Preview Day will be held Tuesday, May 7th, at Edgewood Elementary School. If you have an incoming kindergarten student, please be on the lookout for an email from the district with more details. If you have not previously let the school district know about your incoming kindergarten student, please email Merrick Wilson.

Spring Festival:

Saturday, April 13th

3:00-7:00pm at Edgewood Elementary

• Please sign up to help volunteer via the signup genius that was sent from your room parent. This beloved event can not happen without the help of each class! Also, please check your email and sign up to bring food/drinks (whichever your class was assigned). Please make sure to drop these items off this week at the school AFTER noon each day, as not to interfere with state testing.

• Spring Festival pre-order t-shirts and wristbands will come home with your oldest child starting next week. Wristbands and tickets for rides/games and food will be available for walk up purchase the day of the festival.

• The Spring Festival Silent Auction will be available for preview here starting Monday, April 8th at 8:00am. The auction will go live Thursday, April 11th at 8:00am and close Saturday, April 13th at 6:30pm.
