Our parent teacher organization (PTO) has a rich tradition of volunteer spirit. Everyone has special gifts and talents, and we encourage you to share yours with the students and faculty at Edgewood Elementary through our PTO volunteer opportunities.

FALL 2021 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES 

 

                         

   

Room Parent- Room Parent volunteers facilitate communication between parents and the teacher, school administration, and/or PTO, and provide support to the teacher throughout the school year.

Grandpal’s Day - Volunteers can serve in many different ways, such as serving refreshments, decorations, set-up, clean-up, and by leading Grandpals to their respective classrooms. Grandpal's Day is on Thursday, September 30.

Turkey Trot - These volunteers are responsible for assisting the PE coaches with planning and organizing the one-mile fun run held in November. The Turkey Trot will be on November 7, 2021.

Grounds Clean Up - It is hard work to keep our school beautiful! Have your group, scout troop, or family meet at Edgewood on a Saturday or Sunday to help clean up the front sidewalk, fields, playground, and parking lot. Volunteers will need to provide trash bags for their group.

Yearbook - Volunteers will assist the Yearbook Chair and Co-Chair by taking photographs for the yearbook throughout the school year as well as helping with the layout and ordering process of the Yearbook.  They also help with book distribution in the spring.

5th Grade Committee - Volunteers will assist in planning the 5th grade finale at the annual talent show, order 5th grade t-shirts, and plan the ice cream party held after 5th grade celebration.

Edgewood Gear - Volunteers will assist in selling gear at PTO sponsored events.

Hospitality - Volunteers on this committee are responsible for organizing the teachers’ luncheon held in August, teacher appreciation week activities in the spring, monthly Staff appreciation treats, and the 5th grade awards reception held at the end of the school year.

Media Center Volunteers - These volunteers help in the Media Center by re-shelving books and other types of media, mending and cataloging.  They also help with the book fair and Author Day in the spring.

Translator- Can you speak Spanish? We are always looking for volunteers who can communicate/translate with our Spanish-speaking families at our various events.
