WHAT DOES THE EDGEWOOD ELEMENTARY PTO DO?
We use our time, talents and funds to help make Edgewood Elementary School a better place for our teachers and students. Funds raised throughout the year and from our biggest fundraiser - the Spring Festival - go towards purchases for the school that will help improve the academic and physical environment for our teachers and students. Without you and your support it, would not be possible for the PTO to continue to organize events and provide much needed contributions to our school.
Here's just a few of the ways PTO has given back over the past few years:
- Classroom assistance donations for teachers and staff at the beginning of the school year
- Luncheons and treats throughout the year to show our appreciation
- Celebrations each day during Teacher Appreciation Week to honor staff
- Fall teacher grants to help staff achieve professional development goals
- Spring teacher grants to meet the needs of our teachers and student body
- Yearbooks for every 5th grader to commemorate their time at Edgewood
- Centennial celebration for Edgewood's 100th birthday
- Support for all of the fun events and celebrations students adore - House Day, Pals Day, Papapalooza, Edgewood Talent Show, 5th Grade Graduation, Kindergarten Preview, and Meet the Teacher
- Annual donation to Homewood City Schools Foundation
- PTO's contribution to the Jingle Fund for staff at the holidays
- Organizing the annual Turkey Trot
Why join?
Joining PTO provides opportunities to connect with other parents, support teachers and students, and help Edgewood thrive. If I join, do I have to:
- Go to meetings? No. You are welcome to, but you can always provide feedback by emailing ptoedgewood@gmail.com.
- Volunteer or spend a lot of time at school? Not required, but we do love the help! If you can't find the time, we just appreciate your membership.
